Motti is my co-work pawl. He has become a good Sax player through these last monthes (Sept 1998- Jan 1999), due to hard work and intensive hours of practice.
I hope I'll have many oppertunities to play with him along the road.
Eliran Naggar, Keyboardist, and a friend.
Please send me information on where you are located in Jerusalem and the schedule of guest artists. My e-mail address is

Motti,
I sent the same info to Arnie via EMail. I am a jazz bassist (upright & electric), who at 39, is entering cantorial school. I will be studying at Machon Schecter in Jerusalem from July through June.
I could use help with: hooking into the local jazz scene, getting access to an amp & upright bass, and exploring the use of different forms of music in a religious setting- from performance to nusach.
YOur web site mentions using music to reach all people. IN addition to that, I want to use music to help people reach G-D.
Any suggestions, referrals, names, etc would be extremely helpful.

It's cool and sunny, wet and cloudy.......witches brew their brew. I'll send some pictures soon.

Be well and keep playing. Love, Grace
Hi from Bristol, England. I've just been surfing tonight and came across your website - it looks very interesting.
I'm a jazz pianist and composer and am currently working on a suite combining Yiddish melodies and modern jazz - scored for quintet.
Perhaps we could stay in touch? I'd love to bring my group - Musaic - to Israel sometime.
Best of luck with your work in the meantime,
l'shalom,
Jon Stein

Arnie, my name is Eric Blachman(jewjazz@hotmail.com), I'm from NYC but now live in London - I used to check you out around NYC and last heard you at The Jazz Cultural Center - Barry had a funky but great place there! I had done some gigs with Cliff Barbaro and Frank Hewitt and others from down there, and Lonnie Smith down in Miami. Anyhow, I've done a lot of teaching and finished my MA here in London. My dissertation was on The Accessability of Jazz for the Classical Musician. I have family in Israel, and would be very interested in visiting your music center, it sounds great. (I am a saxophonist).

Hello, I would like to receive information on your concerts, etc. My e-mail address is kellinicole1@hotmail.com. Do you have anything going on this weekend? Thank you very much. Kelli
I just returned from a trip to the 2002 IAJE conference in Long Beach where I again had the chance to hear Mr. Lawrence and his wonderful ensemble. I was lucky enough to wander into their presentation at IAJE last year in New York. I continue to be impressed by the music that is made here, and by the wonderful collaboration that produces such a unique sound. Thank you for your work!!
I attended the IAJE conference in N.Y. city in January 2001, and heard Arnie Lawrence and the ICCM Ensemble play. It was so enjoyable and inpsiring and I want to hear more. Was that performance recorded? Has that ensemble recorded anything? Is there a CD out, or do they tour anywhere now? If not, is there any other groups that do have CDs out that play that kind of music and have that kind of sound? Thanks- wes parkerjw@brevard.edu
Hey Mr. Lawrence, funny who you bump into in cyberspace.......... Shmil Berniker therealshmil@hotmail.com www3.sympatico.ca/sberniker/index.htm
I grew up with the pleasure of knowing Arnie Lawrence. He was our Artist in Residence in Shelbyville, KY in the US when I was in high school, and he also played yearly from the time I was in middle school at our annual Carnival of Music. Which was a LONG LONG time ago now!!! Back in the early 80's. But I am still listening to jazz and playing some still myself.....oboe (classical) and flute. But was just thinking about him and wondering where in the world Arnie was and how he was doing. Sounds like he is doing wonderful and VERY active and playing like always. Just wanted to send warm wishes...and glad to know that he is still influencing young lives with his music!!! Elizabeth Hartmann (I went by "Buffy" (Vest) in school.) Here is my e-mail address: ehartman@prllc.com
Arnie, I just wanted to say hello and congratulations on your project in Israel. I played trumpet with you a few times at Nightingales (Sunday nights) before you left New York for Israel and I left for Tokyo. You were a HUGE influence on me. I'm trying to do a similar kind of "nightingales session" in Tokyo. I'm calling it the "Groove" Project. Take care and be safe....Neil Stalnaker http://www.neilstalnaker.com Also, I put the ICFCJ on my links page. neilstalnaker007@hotmail.com
